Gentex S Series SCR Hard Wired Smoke/CO Alarm with Relay
$175.00
This hardwired alarm senses both smoke and carbon monoxide, and it includes a programmable relay. The relay can switch on connected equipment when the alarm sounds, which is how it can be tied into things like strobe or bed-shaker alerts for someone who may not hear the horn. It uses photoelectric smoke sensing, which is meant to cut down on nuisance alarms. It also has a 9V battery backup, so the relay keeps working if the power goes out. It sounds different patterns for smoke and for CO, and it can link with other Gentex alarms built to work together. It mounts to a standard junction box and needs to be wired into the building's power. The relay only matters if you connect something to it, so plan what that device will be before you buy.

Gentex S Series SR Hard Wired Smoke Alarm w/ Relay
$130.00
This is a hard-wired photoelectric smoke alarm with a built-in relay, so it can trigger other equipment when smoke is sensed. The relay is how people who can't hear a standard alarm often get a strobe or bed shaker to go off too. It also sounds its own 85 dBA horn and keeps working on a 9V battery if the power goes out, with the relay still active on battery. It connects to a standard junction box and can link with other Gentex tandem-capable smoke alarms, so it is a good fit for a home or building where wired fire protection is already planned. The alarm alone won't give a visual or vibrating signal; you need to wire the relay to a compatible alerting device.

Gentex S Series S Hard Wired Smoke Alarm (917-0070-002)
$105.00
This hard-wired photoelectric smoke alarm connects to your home's electrical system and keeps working during a power outage with a 9V battery backup. It sounds an 85 dBA horn at 3100Hz in a temporal 3 pattern, the standard three-beep evacuation signal. It can link with other Gentex smoke alarms that support interconnection, so one alarm going off can trigger the rest. Keep in mind that this is a standard audible alarm. It has no strobe or bed-shaker built in, so someone who can't hear a horn would need a separate flashing or vibrating alert added to the system.

Gentex S Series SCRR Hard Wired Smoke/CO Alarm (2 Relays)
$190.00
This is a hard-wired alarm that senses both smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) and sounds a loud horn when it detects either one. It has two sets of relays, which are switches the alarm can trip so it can trigger other connected equipment. That makes it a useful building block when a standard horn alone won't wake or warn someone. A 9V alkaline battery keeps it running through a power outage, and it will tell you when the battery is low or missing. It can link with other Gentex tandem-capable smoke alarms, so one alarm sets off the others. Smoke and heat get a three-beep pattern and CO gets a four-beep pattern. The relays are programmable, but the page doesn't say what they can be wired to, so check that before ordering. The alarm is wired into the home's power, so plan on an installer or confident DIYer.
