The Scitec 55S-c is a single-line desk phone with a built-in speakerphone and caller ID, made for people who have trouble hearing a standard phone. It has a volume control that meets HAC/ADA hearing-aid compatibility standards, plus an OFF/HI/LO ringer switch. A one-touch light bar signals voice mail, and five programmable keys let you set up your own shortcuts. It also has hold, flash, redial, mute, and transfer/conference keys, and it works with Centrex/PBX office phone systems, so it can fit in a workplace as well as at home. Because it has so many keys and settings, expect to spend a little time learning the layout.
