Also known as: Braille Ready Format, braille ready format, .brf
BRF, or Braille Ready Format, is a file format used to store braille text that can be read on refreshable braille displays or embossed on a braille printer. It is the most common file type for digital braille books and documents, widely used by people who are blind or have low vision. AT users encounter BRF files on braille notetakers, standalone braille readers, and SD cards loaded with accessible content from libraries like Bookshare or the National Library Service.
