DAISY
Vision
Also known as: Digital Accessible Information System, DAISY talking book, DAISY audio book, DAISY audiobook, DAISY format, DAISY book
DAISY, which stands for Digital Accessible Information System, is a structured audio and e-book format designed for people who are blind, have low vision, or have print disabilities such as dyslexia. Unlike a standard audiobook, a DAISY file is organized so the listener can jump between chapters, headings, pages, or even sentences — making it possible to navigate long books the way a sighted reader would skim or search. It is widely used with dedicated players like the Victor Reader series, as well as software players on computers and phones, and is the standard format distributed by many accessible library services worldwide.
